About

Pamela Kaw, MD

Hi, I am Dr. Pamela Kaw. I have been in Ophthalmology practice in Troy since 2007. I attended King George Medical School in Lucknow, India. I immigrated to the USA in 1996, did research in ocular pharmacology, a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and finally completed my ophthalmology residency at Albany Medical Center in 2005. In 2007, I joined Dr. Levy’s practice, at that time located on 15th Street in Troy. The practice has been established for nearly five to six decades now.

I thoroughly enjoy my daily interactions with my patients and my staff. I value patient education and try to be very accessible to my patients even when out of office. I practice general ophthalmology but I have always had a special interest in pediatric ophthalmology. I have a designated day for my pediatric patients so that the entire office gets geared to the needs of the little ones. I perform office based surgeries and use Ambulatory Surgery Center and Samaritan Hospital for all major eye procedures.

I have a strong interest in academics especially teaching. I hold a faculty position of Associate Professor in Ophthalmology at Albany Medical Center and provide supervision to on-call ophthalmology residents.

On the personal front, I am a resident of Bethlehem, NY. I am married and my husband is a psychiatrist in solo practice locally. Outside work, I love gardening, cooking, and trekking. I believe strongly that diet, exercise and family can modify most of our genetic predispositions for health and disease conditions. We are also fortunate that we are living in an era of excellence in therapeutic and surgical advancements and have those avenues when needed.
