Hi I am Dr Pamela Kaw. I have been in Ophthalmology practice in Troy since 2007. I attended King George Medical School in Lucknow, India. I immigrated to the USA in 1996, did research in ocular pharmacology, a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and finally completed my ophthalmology residency in Albany Medical Center in 2005. In 2007, I joined Dr Levy’s practice ,at that time located on the 15th street in Troy. The practice goes back to almost five to six decades now. Dr Levy retired a few months after I joined. In 2010 we moved to our current location on Hoosick Street to a newly remodeled office space with better access for most of our patients.

The last few years have been nothing but true blessing. I thoroughly enjoy my daily interactions with my patients and my staff. I value patient education and try to be very accessible to my patients even when out of office. Early adoption of EHR has helped me tremendously in this regard. I practice general ophthalmology but I have always had a special interest in pediatric ophthalmology. I have a designated day for my pediatric patients so that the entire office gets geared to the needs of the little ones. I perform office based surgeries but use Samaritan Hospital for all major eye procedures.
I have a strong interest in academics especially teaching. I hold a faculty position of Associate Professor in Ophthalmology at Albany Medical Center and provide supervision to on- call ophthalmology residents. Every week, on Mondays I provide eye exam training to Albany Med Internal Med residents.

On the personal front, I am a resident of Bethlehem, NY. I am married and my husband is a psychiatrist in solo practice locally. Outside work , I love gardening, cooking and trekking. I believe strongly that diet, exercise and family can modify most of our genetic predispositions for health and disease conditions. We are also fortunate that we are living in an era of excellence in therapeutic and surgical advancements and have those avenues when needed.
